ESSHL Senior League Finals delayed

The ESSHL Senior League Finals have been cancelled due to inclement weather.  The finale between the Red Wings and Predators is tentatively scheduled for the 2nd of June at 1:30 PM.

Red Wings and Predators advance to ESSHL Championship

Both conference finals went 3 games to decide the Eastern Shore Street Hockey League championship matchup.  The Red Wings battled the Capitals to earn their place in the finals, while the Predators outlasted the Coyotes in their 3-game series.  The conference finals were marked by the tightest games in any of the previous 16 years of the League.  5 of the 6 games were 1-goal victories, 4 of which were 3-2 scores.

Red Wings/Capitals Game 1:  Capitals (5)  -  Red Wings (3)
Leading the Caps in the game 1 Victory was forward Zach Mills with a 3-goal Hat Trick, with Steven Sharo and Heather Coniglio adding goals on an assist from coach Danny Miller.  Guy Shover, Zach Hail and coach Brandon Stapleton got the goals for the Wings.

Red Wings/Capitals Game 2: Red Wings (3)  -  Capitals (2)
Preston Shover led the Wings with 2 goals, with Guy Shover adding a goal to knot the series 1-1.  Scoring for the Caps in the game 2 loss were Steven Sharo and Danny Miller.

Red Wings/Capitals Game 3: Red Wings (3)  -  Capitals (2)
Scoring the goals for the series deciding win for the Wings were Preston Shover and Brandon Stapleton.  Zach Mills and Randall Stapleton got the markers for the Caps in the game 3 loss.

Predators/Coyotes Game 1: Predators (3)  -  Coyotes (2)
Derek Hail, Garret Baylis, and Luke Shiffner all scored for the Preds in the win, with coach Josh Fishman earning an assist.  Scoring for the Coyotes in the Game 1 loss were Keith Hagler and Chris Love.

Predators/Coyotes Game 2: Coyotes (5)  -  Predators (4)
The Coyotes evened the series on goals from Michael Vargas, Chris Perry, Keith Hagler, and Chris Love with Michael Pryor earning an assist.  Luke Shiffner, Cody Williams, and Derek Hail scored the goals in the game 2 loss for the Predators.

Predators/Coyotes Game 3: Predators (3)  -  Coyotes (2)
Derek Hail, Rick Weber, and Dean Dedicatoria all scored for the Preds in the game 3 win.  Cody Williams added an assist for the Preds.  Scoring for the Coyotes in the loss were Jennie Rice and Roger Haeusser.
The ESSHL Championship Battle for the Parksley Cup between the Red Wings and the Predators will be contested on Sunday May 19th starting at 1:30 PM.

ESSHL Regular Season Ends, Playoff Matchups Set

The 2012/2013 Eastern Shore Street Hockey League completed regular season play Sunday 4/12/13 with the Capitals and Predators winning their respective conferences.  First round play-off matchups are set with the Capitals and the Hurricanes meeting in a best-of-three series on Sunday April 21st.  The remaining first round play-off series will take place on Sunday April 28th with best-of-three series including the Predators and the Blues, the Bruins and the Coyotes, and the Red Wings VS the Whalers.

Whalers (1)  -  Capitals (1)  OT-TIE
Jim Rodgers netted the lone goal for the Whalers on an assist from Jen Reed, while Evan Dize got the marker for the Capitals on an assist from Steve Sharo.

Red Wings (7)  -  Hurricanes (3)
Scoring for the Wings were Guy Shover, Brandon Stapleton, Zack Hail, David Henderson, and Josh LoFaso with Ross Underwood assisting.  Donnie Williams JR netted all three Canes goals in the loss.

Predators (3)  – Whalers (1)
Garret Baylis and Derek Hail combined for the Predators goals, with Rick Weber earning 2 assists.  Scoring the lone goal for the Whalers in the loss was Duane Reed.

Scoring for the Caps in the win were Zack Mills, Steve Sharo, and Heather Coniglio, with Evan Dize earning an assist.  Brandon Stapleton netted the marker for the Wings in the loss.

Lane Spangler led the Blues with the three goal Hat Trick, while Mark Stapleton earned the shut-out in goal, turning aside 13 Hurricanes shots.  Kevin Baylis and James Haley added goals for the Blues on assists from Jason Johnson and Ben Bundick.

Bruins  (8)  -  Predators (4)
TR Hoyt and Josh Hail both earned three goal Hat Tricks for the Bruins in the win.  Michael Garbacz and Chris Pascal added goals for the Bruins, with Cory Chance assisting.  Derek Hail and Rick Weber got the goals for the Preds in the loss.

Coyotes (0)  -  Blues (0)  OT-TIE
The Blues and Coyotes battled to a rare 0-0 tie in the final regular season game of the 2012/2013 season.  Both goalies earned shut-outs with Coyotes goaltender Guy Parks turning aside 16 Blues shots, while Blues goalie Mark Stapleton stopped 21 Coyotes shots.

Due to inclement weather, ESSHL Senior games that were to be played on 03/17/13 will be rescheduled.  ESSHL Senior League will resume on 04/07/13 with regular schedule games.  An updated schedule will be available soon.

Whalers take over first place in the Bayside Conference

Two big wins coupled with a Capitals loss has placed the Whalers in a 1 point advantage at the top of the ESSHL Bayside Conference standings.  The Bruins solidified their 2nd place spot in the Seaside conference, also winning both Sunday games.

Rick Weber earned the 3 goal Hat Trick and Derek Hail added 2 goals on an assist from Eric Hart in the 5-1 Preds win.  Aaron Hudson scored the lone goal for the Blues.

Scoring for the Whalers in the win were Jim Rodgers and Jeremy Lawrence on assists from Coach Wes Stapleton and Mark Kannan.  Zack Underwood got the marker for the Canes in the 1 goal loss.

In his first appearance in goal, Evan Dize earned the Shutout, stopping all 5 Blues shots.  Heather Coniglio and Steve Sharo got the goals for the Caps on assists from Zach Mills and Kim Mills.

The Predators clinched the Seaside Conference Title Sunday, after wins over the Bruins and Coyotes.  The Battle continues tight at the top of the Bayside conference, with only 4 points separating 1st and 3rd place, as the Capitals hold a narrow one point lead over the Whalers and the Red Wings in contention 3 points back.

Continuing strong performances, the Caps and Whalers extend their points lead in the Bayside Conference.  The Predators hold a commanding 12 point lead over the 2nd place Blues in the Seaside conference.

Bayside All-Stars win Annual ESSHL Contest
The Bayside Conference All-Stars defeated the Seaside Conference 3-1 in the Annual ESSHL All-Star game.  The Seaside All-Stars took an early lead on a deflection by forward Jason Johnson on a shot from Coach Josh Fishman.  The Seaside held the lead until late in the 2nd period when Bayside forward Brandon Stapleton netted his own rebound to tie the score.  The Bayside All-Stars added two 3rd period goals from Donnie Williams Jr. and Brandon Stapleton to steal the win.  The 3-1 score was one of the lowest scoring All-star games in the 16 year history of the Eastern Shore Street Hockey League.  The Game was a strong defensive battle with quick end to end action and crisp passing.  Following the game the league held a Hockey Skills competition, with the results as follows:

2012/2013 All-Star Game and Skills Competition

The Blues and Caps won both their games in Sunday’s action in the Eastern Shore Street Hockey League.  The Caps hold a 3 point lead over the Whalers in the Bayside conference while the Blues and Coyotes are tied for 2nd behind the Seaside conference leading Predators.

Zack Mills led the Caps with a 3 goal Hat Trick with Danny Miller and Heather Conilgio also scoring on the assists from Steven Sharo and Nathan Metzger.  Chris Love netted the lone goal for the Yotes in the loss.

Through 6 weeks of the ESSHL season, the Capitals and Predators continue to dominate in their respective conferences with identical 10-2-0 records.  The Whalers are beginning to make a run on the Caps, just 5 points back.

Scoring for the Whalers were Jon Daughton, Jim Rodgers, and Duane Reed.  Jen Reed and Brad Nicholson earned the assists for the Whalers.  Guy Shover, Brandon Stapleton, David Henderson, and Josh Lofaso scored the goals for the Wings.

Chris Pascal led the B’s with 4 goals, while TR Hoyt added 2 on assists from Cory Chance and Michael Garbacz.  James Haley netted all 3 Blues goals for the Hat Trick.

Red Wings (7)  -  Capitals (6)
Scoring for the Wings were Josh Lofaso, Ross Underwood, Brandon Stapleton, and Guy Shover, with Zach Hail and David Henderson earning assists.  Zack Mills and Heather Coniglio combined for the Cap’s scoring.

Whalers (6)  -  Blues (1)
Jim Rodgers, Brad Nicholson, Jen Reed and Jon Daughton all scored for the Whalers, with coach Wes Stapleton getting an assist.  Lane Spangler netted the lone goal for the Blues in the loss.

Hurricanes (9)  -  Coyotes (2)
Donnie Williams Jr led the Canes with 4 goals, while Brooks Marshall, Robbie Parker and Jacob Wilson added markers on assists from Jesse Hammond and Zack Underwood.  Chris Love and Keith Hagler got the goals for the Yotes in the loss.

Predators (5)  -  Bruins (3)
Scoring for the Preds were Josh Fishman, Derek Hail, and Cody Williams on assists from Rick Weber and Eric Hart.  Cory Chance and Chris Pascal netted the goals for the B’s in the loss.

Capitals (4)  -  Hurricanes (3)
Heather Coniglio, Danny Miller, and Zach Mills got the goals for the Caps, with Evan Dize earning an assist.  Jacob Wilson earned the 3 goal Hat Trick for the Canes in the loss.

Predators (5)  -  Coyotes (2)
Scoring for the Preds in the win were Cody Williams, Josh Fishman, and Derek Hail on assists from Dean Dedicatoria, Rick Weber, and Eric Hart.  Michael Vargas and Michael Pryor got the goals for the Coyotes.

ESSHL Super Jr registration is now open to all youth ages 5-12.  The Super Jr season will begin on Jan 5 2013.  Registration is open from 11-3-2012 till 11-28-2012, any registered players after 11-21-2012 will be required to pay a late registration fee.  The ESSHL Super Jr registration form is available online under “Registration -> Super Junior Registration”.

Due to hurricane Sandy, this Sunday’s games will be rescheduled for next Sunday.  This will result in 3 consecutive weeks of league play: Nov 4th, 11th and 18th.

Predators remain undefeated

The League leading Predators notched two more wins to solidify their place atop the ESSHL standings after week 3 games.  The Capitals suffered their first loss of the season dropping a tight 1-0 contest with the Whalers.  The Whalers notched two wins to close in on the Bayside conference leading Capitals.

Game Summaries:

Capitals (9)  -  Coyotes (2)
Zach Mills led the Caps with a 3 goal Hat Trick, while Heather Coniglio, Danny Miller, Rick Albanese and Steven Sharo rounded out the scoring in the win.  Matthew Ayres, and Chris Love scored for the Yotes in the loss.

Bruins (8)  -  Redwings (8)  Tie
Bruins scorers were TR Hoyt, Josh Hail, Michael Garbacz, and Chris Pascal with Adam Hunter earning 2 assists.  Josh Lofaso, Brandon Stapleton, Guy Shover, Zach Hail, Chris Garcia, and Ross Underwood netted the markers for the Wings.

Whalers goalie Jon Daughton earned the shutout in goal.  Brad Nicholson scored the winning goal for the Whalers on an assist from Jen Reed.

Michael Pryor, Michael Vargas, Chris Love, Mathew Ayres, and Keith Hagler scored the goals for the Yotes with assists from Jennie Rice and Jenny Hagler.  Scoring for the Bruins in the loss were Chris Pascal and Josh Hail.

Coach Will Deuter led the Preds with a 3 goal Hat Trick with Cody Williams adding the insurance goal.  Derek Hail and Rick Weber got assists in the win for the Predators.  Donnie Williams Jr and Caleb Parks got the goals for the Canes.

Blues (4)  -  Red Wings (3)
Scoring for the Blues in the win were Jason Johnson, Lane Spanger, and James Haley with Zack Baylis and Aaron Hudson earning assists.  Brandon Stapleton, Chris Garcia, and Josh Lofaso netted the markers for the Wings.

Whalers (4)  -  Hurricanes (3)
Jeremy Lawrence, Brad Nicholson, Duane Reed, and Caleb Clark got the goals for the Whalers with Justin Wheeler assisting.  Scoring for the Canes in the loss were Caleb Parks and Donnie Williams Jr.

Predators (4)  -  Blues (0)  Shutout
Goalie Billy Justis earned the Shutout for the Preds, with Derek Hail, Rick Weber, and Cody Williams scoring the goals in the win.  Will Deuter and Josh Fishman earned assists in the Shutout victory.

Predators/Capitals continue to be undefeated

Week 2 of the Eastern Shore Street Hockey League saw the top two teams in their respective conferences come away with another two wins solidifying their places atop the Bayside and Seaside conferences.  The Capitals lead the Bayside conference with 8 points and the Predators lead the Seaside conference with 8 points.

Predators (3)  -  Blues (1)
Derek Hail and coach Will Deuter combined for the goals in the win.  Rick Weber added an assist for the Predators.  Blues forward Aaron Hudson netted the lone goal in the loss.

Hurricanes (6)  -  Whalers (4)
Donnie Williams Jr. led the Hurricanes with 5 goals, with Jesse West adding an insurance goal in the win.  Robby Parker and Brooks Marshall earned assists for the Hurricanes.  Brad Nicholson, Jim Rodgers, and Duane Read got the goals for the Whalers.

Capitals (4)  -  Blues (2)
Heather Coniglio led the Caps with 2 goals, with Zach Mills and Steven Sharo rounding out the scoring in the win.  Coach Danny Miller added an assist for the Caps.  Ben Bundick and Lane Spangler got the goals for the Blues in the loss.

Coach Will Deuter led the Preds with 5 goals and Luke Shiffner added a goal with an assist from Derek Hail and Rick Weber.  Guy Shover and coach Brandon Stapleton got the markers for the Wings in the loss.

TR Hoyt led the Bruins with 4 goals and 3 assists, while Josh Hail earned a 3 goal Hat Trick in the win.  Michael Garbacz and Chris Pascal also scored for the Bruins in the win.  Donnie Williams Jr. and Jesse West combined for the goals for the Canes in the loss.

Whalers (10)  -  Coyotes (0)  Shutout
Whalers goalie Jon Daughton turned aside 17 shots to earn the shutout for the Whalers.  Jim Rodgers led the Whalers with 7 goals, with Jeremy Lawrence and Brad Nicholson also scoring.  Jen Reed and Mark Kannan added assists in the Whalers win.

Capitals (6)  – Bruins (1)
Zack Mills earned a Hat Trick, with Heather Coniglio and Nathan Metzger also scoring for the Caps in the win.  Steven Sharo earned an assist for the Caps.  TR Hoyt scored the lone goal for the Bruins in the loss.

Red Wings (6)  -  Coyotes (2)
Guy Shover, Brandon Stapleton, Zack Hail, David Henderson, and Chris Garcia netted the goals for the Wings in the win.  Chris Perry scored both goals for the Coyotes in the loss.
