Parksley Cup goes to the Red Wings

The ESSHL Championship goes to the Jaxon’s Red Wings, as they defeated the Predators 2 games to 1 in the championship series.  For Wings Coach Brandon Stapleton, it was the 7th time in the 16 years history of the League that he took his team to the Championship finals, coming up empty handed in the previous 6 trips.  The 7th final was the charm, as the Wings forged an impressive offensive display, pummeling Predators Goalie Billy Justis with 71 shots over 3 games.  Justis turned aside 65 of the 71 shots, but it wasn’t enough to fend off a persistent Wings forecheck.  The Parksley Cup will be awarded to the 2012/2013 champion Wings team at the ESSHL Awards celebration to be held June 2nd.
